Current Research Study:
Examining online activism to end violence against women in Canada
This study examines the experiences of women of colour involved in the creation and/or mobilizing of online forms of communication to end violence against women in Canada in order to understand how such online interventions have developed. Such online forms of communication could consist of Twitter hashtags, Facebook groups and pages, blogs, video games, podcasts, mobile applications, etc. that rely on digital networking technologies.
The goal of this study is to develop new insights about the relationship between online communication technologies and ending VAW from those living in Canada with a focus on highlighting the experiences of women of color.
This study involves one 1-2 hour interview that will take place in a mutually convenient, safe location or online, via Skype or Google Hangout, if you are located outside of Ottawa.
This study is supported by a SSHRC Doctoral Award.
