Current Research Study:

Examining online activism to end violence against women in Canada

This study examines the experiences of womxn of colour (incl. femme nonbinary people of colour and Indigenous women) involved in the creation and/or mobilizing of online forms of communication to end violence against women in Canada. Such online forms of communication could consist of Twitter hashtags, Facebook groups and pages, blogs, video games, podcasts, mobile applications, etc. that rely on digital networking technologies.

The goal of this study is to highlight and theorize insights about the relationship between online communication technologies and ending VAW from those living in Canada with a focus on the experiences of women of colour.

This study involves one 1-2 hour interview that will take place in a mutually convenient, safe location or online, via Skype or Google Hangout, if you are located outside of Ottawa.
